The plant breeders of the world keep getting closer to a hardy 'purple fountain' type grasses. 'Hot Rod' has foliage that starts out blue/green and then quickly turns dark red to eventually maroon.
Big Twister low growing rush sports very unusually thick, twisted, glossy dark green, coiling foliage. Cut back the old stems in early winter so new, healthy ones will come out in spring. Growns in wet, marshy soils. Can be grown in a water garden where the crown is covered with 1-6 inches of water.
Large, golden yellow flowers appear above the cream and green variegated foliage even earlier than typical Heliopsis, and blooms all through summer until fall.
The bright red-orange flowers that bloom over contrasting bronze foliage will delight throughout the summer. This selection has larger flowers than the species and the seed pods will provide fall interest. Deer-resistant and drought-tolerant.
Produces pure white floribunda like flowers. Flowers turn a nice dusty pink as they age. Fast growth rate with some of the extremely large lacy flowers.
