Perennial Plant of the Year 2006. Silver blue foliage topped off with single, bright magenta flowers. Blooms appear April to June. Dead head for repeat blooms.
U of M introduction. A native that at one time was one of the most predominant grasses in North America. Dark blue to burgundy foliage turns to purple, violet and finally red. This selection is more upright than the typical little bluestem and will not fall over.
